This is not, certainly, our cleanest beach, since there is intense boat traffic around the area. However, swimming here is possible and maybe a very pleasant experience. Its waters are calm and sports, like soccer and volleyball, are often played on its sands.

Right in front of  Praia do Bonfim, one can see Ermida do Bonfim, a small church built on an equally small island. The distance between the beach and the island is short (no more than 100 meters) and swimming there is quite possible. If you want to do it, however, you are strongly advised to leave from a neighbour beach, named Praia das Gordas, from where the distance is even shorter.
