is the only beach in the internal part of our bay whose
waters allow surfing. It is washed by oceanic waves that
come from a narrow gap between Ilha Grande and the coast;
a gap that, in a way, exposes Praia Grande to violent
waters from the open sea. This place bears white fine
sands and there are many almond trees here, what provides
shadow for those who cannot support long exposed to heat
and sunlight. This is the right option for you who enjoy
sports like surf and windsurf. It is not possible, however,
to moor near the sands, where the waves break.
You
are strongly advised to visit some other place if you have
small children with you; this beach is surely not suitable
for them.
